Lucas is the 4 year old little boy with the terminal illness MPS. There is no known treatment...there is no cure...and Lucas's life expectancy is only 10 -15 years (go to his FB page Lucas Hembree to see more).
His service dog, Juno, is always by his side. Juno was trained by Lucas's father, after he rescued her from a shelter, where she literally was to be put down in a matter of another few hours. Together, they have formed an inseperable bond.
Life is not the easy, carefree thing it is for most children. The family has gone thru many ups and downs, in fact as Chester Hembree wrote in a note to me, "It seems like for every ounce of good news we get it's followed by a pound of bad news...lol. We've just learned to take what ever happens and make the best of it."
We at the GSDC would like to bring a bit of cheer to this family.
Instead of finding bills in their mailbox, we'd like to fill it with CHRISTMAS CARDS! Holiday greeting and well wishes from around the globe! .... and we need YOUR help!
PLEASE...could you send the family a Christmas card? Let them know, that they are NOT alone in this. Tell them that there are people who truly CARE, this Christmas season. Ronnii’s test results came backs yesterday wee will hand ova to DML fur a bits to fill yoo in properly.

Momma Tea here our girlys results came back and although not quite what we wanted to hear not too bad either. The lump that was removed was cancer BUT it was very low grade and so no further action is need at this time except regular check ups and vigilance and the obligatory TLC, spoiling and lots of cuddles. The vet seemed a wee bit flummoxed that I burst out crying she said “ but that is good news” so I replied “yes and that’s why I am crying “! So major relief in our home at the moment. Just need to get our Izzy sorted out with the evil SM and then all will be perfect here

 

So no needs fur us to worry bouts Ronnii too much, mee n Izzy try to remember dat Ronnii is nots a pup and to nots bounce her too much butts wee does forgets sometimes. Ronnii Poppi Butt always puts us in our place tho with a bit ovs a grr. Wee is jus so happisome dat her is okays n is gonna bee around fur a good while yets ( butt dis does mean lots more tootin from her ………….Bol ).

Oh Mi Goodness

It’s has been a weekend here, wot wivs Moomi not gettin much sleep cos ovs Uji’s over active nocturnal poop shooter cos ovs an upset tummy ( hims is lots better now tho) n meetin new family dat Uji n mee ( Izzy ) hads not mets before n tryin to gets Crimbo stuff sorted its has been ravva hectikal.

Furts fing dat went wrong wos da lites for round our display unit only half ov dem worked so off Moomi dids rush wivs Uncy Fred to gets new ones dat sorted da stuffs from da attic came down. Up goes our black tree and 160 pretty red lites went on………………. and guess wots ? Some ovs dem didn’t work and Poppi could not fix dem so off him dids go to get new ones. One set ovs 100 blue lites later Moomi discovered dem was not enough fur our tree ! So her gaves up fur Satiday……..BOL. Sunday dawned n mee n Uji wokes Moomi early cos wee wanteds to play ( her wos not best happisome bouts that tho ) n wen Poppi got up her went back fur a bit more snooze………………. her managed 25 mins before her got woked up by Poppi askin bout tumble drying??? so her gave on dat idea……….BOL and headed off to get EVEN more lites. Den her went to see Aunti Lyn & Joey in dere new home which her said is loverly. Aunti Lyn is gonna be so much more happisome where her is now, as her wont havs noisy younglings livin under her makin lots ovs noise & her wont be stressed by maybe bumpin into a a couple ovs hoo-peeps who is not veri nice. Moomi sayd Aunti Lyn looks all relaxed again n not all tensed up which makes us all so veri happisome fur her cos wee does lovs our Aunti Lyn veri much.

Well Ronnii went fur her whowhoectomy todays n her dids okays. Her has a mahoosive plaster on her tummy witch does makes her go OWWWY wen her moves funny. Butts her is doin reely well a bit more cuddlesome den normal butts dat is to bee expectamagated considerin her has hads a hoperayshun. Wee will keeps yoo informed on how her does , her has a check up on Satiday so paws crossed fur her. Her is most brave indeeds

Momma Tea here folks to fill you in a little more, when I collected Ronnii this evening the vet told me they found a lump as they were doing the surgery right at the end of the incision, they removed it free of charge ( which was great ) but they wanted to send it away for testing as Ronnii had a large mammary tumour removed last year so of course I said yes and we are awaiting the results. Obviously we are concerned but will cross that bridge if and when we need to. Ronnii is sore and a little uncomfortable and I think the plaster is not helping but she is being very brave indeed and now is now happily snuggled up with her Daddy in bed.
