Our Hearts Are Shattered

 On News Years Day we lost our darling boy Hiro. After a short but devastating illness. As you can imagine we are overwhelmed with grief and are not up to posting the full story yet.

Da Bean Has Left The Building

I should have done this post a lot sooner but it has taken a while to get my head round this and the following events sorry about that. 

I shall start at the beginning;

On Saturday August 1st Bean threw up her tea, this was not unusual as she used to eat so darn fast, sadly this was not her usual food bolting 

On Sunday morning I came down to find Da Popster sleeping on the sofa after Bean had soaked his bed twice in the night ( we thought she had tiddled but it was watery vomit we were to realise ). Our little spitfire was not herself at all. As Sunday continued our wee sprout got worse, constantly vomiting and not being able to keep even the smallest drink of water down add to that explosive liquid poops by mid afternoon we were extremely worried and decided it was emergency vet time. The vet thought it was gastroenteritis and gave her an injection and medication to stop the vomiting.These seemed to help a little at first but during the night and Monday morning she got worse and then black blood started pouring out of her behind so we rushed her back to the vets who kept her in to run tests and give her IV fluids. The vet rang me about 1.30 pm-ish and told me all her kidney levels were very high and she wanted to do a more extensive test which I obviously said was fine. When I heard back after about an hour the news was horrendous, all her levels were off the charts and the diagnostic machines could not read them, the vet had never seen anything like it before.She had acute chronic advanced kidney disease.

 I felt my heart shatter as I was told nothing could be done for our darling girl, I got myself back to the vet as quickly as possible as I didn't want Bean to suffer a second longer than she had to all the while trying to keep it together so she wouldn't pick on my feelings when I got there.

Once I got there I spoke to the vet who was lovely and explained her levels etc and said she was very glad I had got there so quickly, I felt sick then as you can imagine. She bought my little girl out and all her fire, her cheekiness and her spark had left her eyes and she looked even smaller than normal. I scooped her up into my arms and whispered in her ear how honoured and lucky I had been to be her Momster, told her how much we loved her and sung her silly Beanie bum song and she crossed the bridge peacefully in my arms with my voice whispering quietly to her. 

She was so brave and fought so hard in those two days until she had nothing left to give, Bean always gave her all in everything she did.

As you can imagine we are lost without her and so are her 3 brofurs.and it will take a long time for us to come to terms with this.

We would like to thank Charly Kroon for making our Beans dream come true before she crossed the Rainbow Bridge by making her Mrs Bean Kroon. She loved her Charly with all of her heart & soul and he made her the happiest little Sprout with his love and devotion.

Our Darling Izzy. Always With Us

I am sorry it has taken me a month to write this post but losing Izzy so very suddenly was so heartbreaking and shocking that it has taken me this long to even get close to acceptance . The pack have had problems adjusting to life without their leader who lets be honest was a force to be reckoned with.

On the 6th of November I noticed Izzy had not been solid potty so we gave her foods to help that along with no effect  She was still eating and drinkng well but by Friday when I still had not seen anything I took her to the vet who said her poop shoot was empty but her bladder was extremely full and that she probably had a bladder infection. So he gave her a shot and some antibiotics and we toddled home.

She was bright enough on Saturday during the day but did not pass urine a put a nappy on her overnight so I could tell if she had tinkled or not but overnight she was throwing up and crying a lot she also didn't tinkle.

So around 11.30am when we could see no improvement I phoned our vet hospital who said bring her in, there may a wait though as the vet is about to do emergency surgery. Phoned my friend to ask her to take us as it is a long way and neither of us drive. We got there around one and had a long wait to see the vet.

We saw the vet around 2pm-ish and she wasn't sure what was going on so she wanted to do an ultrasound so would we leave Izzy and collect her later which was obviously fine, when we left she was still perky.

Around 5pm I got a call from the vet telling me top get back quickly as Izzy had collapsed. Well as you can imagine I was beside myside wanting to get to her so I called my parents and trhey raced me up to the vet. 

The vet saw me and told me Izzy had collapsed after the ultrasound but it had shown her tummy was full of tumours and fluid. There wasn't really anything they could do but they would try surgery if I wanted them to. Then she went to get Izzy, when she came back with Izzy in her arms and laid her on the table I almost collapsed. My girl could not stand and could not lift her head. My heart just shattered as I knew there was no way I could put her through surgery knowing it probably wouldn't work. I told the vet to get The Bridge injection ready quickly as it was obvious to me that my darling girl had hung on for me to get back to her. She knew I would be a mess if I hadn't been there for her.

I scooped her into my arms holding her close and I put our song on and sand softly to her , told her how lucky I was to have been her Momma, how much I loved her and always would as the vet gave the the injection. I held her so close until the song ended then I laid her in her favourite pink leopard print blankie, tucked her favourite toy hippo in with her. I took a lock of floof, kissed her and told her not to take any guff from her sisfur Ronnii at the Bridge. Kissed her again and gently closed her bad eye. The vet came back in and I said I wanted her to come home again and I left.

I felt so broken but I knew Izzy was tired of being a warrior on Sunday morning as the fight had gone out of her eyes.

I feel blessed we had her for so long as we knew when we adopted her that epi meds can shorten life span and we never expected to hit double digits but my girl was a fighter and made it to 10 years old. Every extra day we got with her were treasured so much.

I cannot express in words how much she is missed

It is with a very broken heart that I have to say my darling, fearless, warrior Princess Izzy has crossed the rainbow bridge this evening after a very short illness  As you can imagine we are all just devastated and The Krew are feeling lost without their Diva at the head of things.

We will do a full post when we have started to get our heads around this

Yestyday mee had to go see da vet laydee, mee wos nots lookin furward to it eivver, even ifs it dids meen some quality time alone wivs Da Popster.

Mee has a few butt issues ova da years an yes mee has anuvva butt gland abcess witch wos da reeson fur da trip butt mee wos nots expektin wot happeneds wen mee got dere.

Da Vet laydee dids look mee ova an eggspected mi butt ( neva a dognified fing mee has to say ) an afta her eggspecshun her dids somefing da shood neva EVA bee doned. Her dids stick her finger in mi butt !!!!!!!!! Mee mades mi shock n horro known wivs da Crestie screem ovs deaf, sadly its did not makes it ani easier.

So nows mee is on aunti biotikals an pain medesin n mee has to go backs on Wednesday, dis time mee ill bee reddy fur her n dat probin finger. It is nots comin ani were near mee again.
